Why do other users' shared folders affect my Dropbox storage?
Hi
So if I have a free Dropbox storage account which is 2Gb, but I want to share the content with some others to let them upload files, it seems that their personal DB impacts the size of mine? Is that right?
My account is full and when I look at the files I have shared, they are no where near the 2Gb but when I look at this, it seems that someone who I share with has made the size fill up with their personal files that we don't see and we don't want to see as nothing to do with us??
That is of zero use to us. Is this how DB works or have I done something wrong as admin? This seems so silly!
Any advice would be appreciated.

Any shared folders that you're a member of exist in your account, so they take up space. Anything added to the shared folder will count towards your usage. Other people's files that are in their own account but not in the shared folder do not count towards your usage; only the content in the shared folder.
