Please Please Please add option to either limit cache storage or turn off
I am syncing across multiple devices, and constantly need to manually clear the cache because of old_files being saved that are being routinely deleted. This gets so bad, that if I leave my devices running my applications for more than a few hours - they can fill up the hard drive and crash each computer. This is detrimental to my setup. I have seen MULTIPLE postings in forums (both Dropbox and others), along with talking to peers, who all complain about the same thing. For the love of all that is holy please add an option to turn the cache (at least old_files recycling) off or throttle it.
The crazy part that aggravates me, is that if I change the write permissions to a sub folder in the cache (to stop anything from being written there) that Dropbox will not work properly and will throw an error. This means the developers put a lock on users being able to do this, and makes me think the reason Dropbox does not have a cache control setting is because they want users to upgrade their service to buy more space. This is terrible customer service, and makes me want to jump ship - especially because it fills up my hard-drive not just my Dropbox space. There is actually more action, time, and effort being taken to stop users from having a manageable cache than there is action in making the cache a more user friendly service. Literally anyone you talk to: the worst part about Dropbox is how heavy it is. Please fix. Thank youuuuu
