Folder missing after the storage was downgraded

Hi - I had a folder with important files, but my storage got automatically downgraded, and now the folder's gone missing. Is there any way I can retrieve the data if I upgrade my storage plan?

Also, could someone please point me in the right direction on how to contact Dropbox about this? I'd appreciate any advice you can offer.

Downgrading or even having storage removed from your account wouldn't cause files or folders to go missing. Dropbox doesn't do that. At most, if you were over quota after the downgrade, syncing would just stop until you were back below your quota. Files are never deleted. Look at your Events page to see see when and where the deletion occurred.

Upgrading has no effect on file recovery. If the files were deleted within your recovery period (30 days on Basic accounts) you should be able to restore files from your Deleted Files.

You can find the support options available to you on the Support page. Basic accounts have access to various self-help options (chat bot, help center articles, etc.), or you can ask questions here.
