Seeking Guidance on Hosting Image Files for my Website using Dropbox
Hello Dropbox Community,
I hope this message finds you well. I am currently working on a website dedicated to providing a comprehensive guide on Tesla Homes, and I am in the process of exploring hosting options for image files. I have heard that Dropbox could be a viable solution for hosting images.
As a newcomer to using Dropbox for website development, I would greatly appreciate any guidance or advice from the community. Specifically, I am interested in understanding:
- How can I effectively host image files for my Tesla Homes Guide website using Dropbox?
- Are there any best practices or specific considerations I should keep in mind when using Dropbox for hosting images on a website?
- Are there any limitations or restrictions I should be aware of?
Your insights and experiences would be invaluable in helping me make informed decisions for my project. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.
Best regards

Dropbox isn't a web hosting service. Yes, it can serve files but that functionality is meant for sharing with others; not web hosting. It's just not meant for that and you can run into issues.
Links generated by Dropbox have a redirect. If your hosting platform has any issues following those redirects, the images will not display. There are also daily bandwidth limits that apply to your account (based on account level) and if even one file exceeds those limits, ALL links on your account would stop working.
Simply put, Dropbox isn't meant for the use you're proposing. Use a proper web host to host the images.
