why are files not available anymore in the folder?!!

Hi anonymous, I'd be happy to help!
When you say that your files in the Dropbox folder aren't available anymore, do you mean that they're not available offline? If you meant something different is happening, be sure to let me know.
Have you tried following these steps, in order to make your folders, and files available offline?
As for the new icons for macOS, feel free to take a look into this Help Center article.
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

is this a joke?! file is not available offline anymore, spent an hour trying to find a way to disable it and no luck.
So i had to come here and rant about how dissatisfied i am with this useless smart sync that you push down our throats Dropbox!!
i am using this since 10years + and always had great respect on how fluent this is made an i am always saving client preview files on Dropbox but i need to access them on my local desktop too! at least for a few hours.
when i finish the project i dont care, but in those hours i export jpegs as photographer, i want to be able to open the files again and compare without that annoying download icon like button.
if i wanted that i could have used iCloud that i am paying for already!
sooo crazy i lost so much time today

i mean they are there but i see only a thumb instead of the file. then i have to click that stupid cloud like icon with an arrow and wait a few seconds minutes to be able to see that file again,
that file that i just put there!
this is not the dropbox i used to know

and why do you modify the title of my post?! cant we talk freely in here Lame

arght
so much time to waste because someone thought to complicate it!!!
i just copied a file locally into the dropbox folder that is local
on osx, in finder
like usual
like i do since 2009
why does it go away from my computer and have to press that arrow to download in order to preview a lousy jpeg again.

Hi anonymous, I just merged your second post, under the first thread you used, in order to post your query. Now, what you described sounds like you're syncing an online-only file, and making it available offline, is that the case?
Can you send me a couple of screenshots, in order for me to have a clear visual of the behavior you mentioned?
