New family member doesn't have smart sync capabilities and now can't access DB online?

A recent family member on my Dropbox account is now experiencing technical issues after having no previous issues. They have lost the smart sync functionality and now cannot access Dropbox online. I have tried reinviting them and getting them to redownload the DB desktop app. Also, i have checked to see if their Mac OS system is up to the task and I can confirm it is. Please help?

    Could you check that they've enabled the Dropbox system extension and Mac OS option to mark files as online-only on this page?
