How can I change ownership of my team member folder?

I put a whole bunch of my work inside my personal folder on our work account and I am the Owner of the folder and I don't see any way to allow my boss to be able to view inside the folder. I can share individual folders inside my main folder than I own, but I can not share the main folder. Is it not possible to share this folder? Can I change the ownership so that my boss owns it? If I do change ownership does that mean that I will no longer be able to see the contents?

  • Hi @nate22

It isnt possible to change the owner of the root directory of Dropbox - that would mean you couldnt access anything.

You need to move everything in to one folder and share that if thats what you want to do (its probably also easier than sharing lots of folders)

If I put all my work in a new folder and share that one folder, will that shared be visible to the whole team or will they only be able to access it via a link? I want them to be able to easy access all my work. I don't want them to have to dig around for a link I sent them one time. Thank you.

You will need to share it with them. If you send a link it is read only and they access it via that link everytime they need it. If you add them to the folder they can add it to their own Dropbox as long as they've enough quota - your files will use up their quota.
