Hey Githaiga - hope this finds you well!
First step here would be to change your bandwidth settings . To do so:
- Click the Dropbox icon from the system tray or menu bar (or right-click, on Linux).
- Click the gear icon (Windows and Mac), then select Preferences…
- Click Bandwidth (Windows or Linux).
- On a Mac, click Network and then click Change settings… in the Bandwidth section.
- You can manually adjust the bandwidth settings with the button next to Limit to under the Download rate or Upload rate sections.
- Enter the rates you prefer to continue.
I hope this helps and let me know if you need anything else. Cheers!

Is there a way to centrally manage this for a group of users or maybe even better via group policy?

Is there a way to Set bandwidth capping via Group Policy?

Hi thocus.
Welcome to the Dropbox Community.
There is currently no way for a team to set up bandwidth caps for their users.
You can post a feature request in our share an idea section if you wish.
[EDIT] I merged your topic here. In this discussion, Walter offers the steps to limit bandwidth usage of the Dropbox desktop app, per device. :gear:
Thank you!
