Dropbox not allowing head (header requests). Error 405
Hi all, after a bit of work, Dropbox is working now with either dl=1 or raw=1. Refer to my last article below: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/View-download-and-export/Need-jpg-not-jpeg/m-p/67462...

Hey DropD, thanks for reaching out to our Community again.
The preview links won't work for your recipient, as they'd need to be signed in to your Dropbox account, to access the files.
However, they shouldn't have an issue accessing the shared links. Have they tried opening the links from a different browser or private browsing window?
And do you perhaps have or can obtain a screenshot of the error message?
Thanks in advance.

It is their database that is trying to pull in the images. This isn't an individual, (think Amazon). I have tried the shared link, but it doesn't work as provided with most venues. The thing that does work is dl=1 or raw=1, but ABE Books doesn't like either of those. I can see if they will give me a screen shot, but the errors they are seeing is in their system, so I wouldn't have access.- Jay2 years agoDropbox Staff
Hi DropD, since the shared links are working normally, there isn't much we can assist with if that site is accessing the site via a different method. This would be something they have to troubleshoot on their own end.

Jay, to be fair, the Shared links are not really working as intended. Remember that we have to manipulate the extension to force it to work, i.e., (dl=1, or raw=1). That being said, ABE is the one venue that is not working with that hack, so, they are partially to blame also. I am a bit caught in the middle here and it's a bit frustrating. If we could just have a nice, clean image.jpg URL, we wouldn't have to go through this painful exercise.
