Dropbox app won't upload images anymore from the iphone

Anyone else finding that since the update, they can't get images to upload to dropbox on their iphones anymore?

  • Hey Jodes, let's try one more step, please.

    Feel free to uninstall the app, reboot your phone, then re-install. If this doesn't work, take a screenshot of the error message you get, and send it back to me here, so I can have visual too.

    Hi Jubilbae, welcome to our Community!

    Which one of our platforms do you use in order to upload content? Our website, the desktop or mobile app?

    Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there.

    Hi Jodes, I'd be happy to help!

    How  exactly do you upload the images? Do you use the camera upload feature, or manually by clicking the + button?

    Have you tried restarting your phone, by any chance?

    Let me know more!

      @Megan I have restarted my phone. I have tried uploading directly from the image and get error messages. I’ve tried doing it from the Dropbox end and get the same error.

      Dropbox has asked me twice now to report the problem which I have but nothing has changed and there’s no actual ‘contact us’ for Dropbox so I’m wondering if I should stop using them and go to another similar service.

        Hey Jodes, what is the OS of your mobile app, and what about the version of the Dropbox app that you have installed there?

        You mentioned you get an error, can you let me know what the error is, please?

    I've been unable to upload files and images for over a month now. I don't know what else to do.

      Hey Jubilbae, I hope it’s OK to jump in.

      Can you please clarify whether you’re unable to upload your files to the Dropbox app manually (by clicking on the + button) or automatically via camera uploads instead?

      What happens exactly when you try to add them to your Dropbox account?

    Camera uploads doesn't work. Nothing is uploaded allthough it says Backing up and the blue activity bar is moving. It worked yesterday... I still have 527 photos to be backed up on my Iphone 7. I get NO error messages whatsoever.

    Hey Jubilbae, sorry to jump in, but could you clear the app's cache on your device and then try to upload your files again?

    If you still get the same error, please send us a screenshot so that we can have a visual too.

    Thanks!

      Walter first of all, I've done it but it still didn't work. Second of all, I don't know how to add the screenshot. Thirdly, I'm not sure which discussion I've been dragged. I don't remember tagging iPhone as my topic. I'm lost.

        Hi again, Jubilbae!

        I understand that you’re still having an issue with uploading files to your Dropbox mobile app, correct?

        If yes, then you should be able to add a screenshot here of the error you're receiving by clicking on the small camera icon that should be located above your message box (right before you post your reply on this thread).

    Hello everyone,

    I'm having the exact same issue after the latest iOS 16.3.1 update.

    For example, if I take a screenshot from iPhone and then try to upload it to a Dropbox folder, I'm receiving the following message / error:

    "Sending failed.
    File upload failed. Check and try again."

    I already reinstall the Dropbox app, restarted the phone, but the issue persists.
    How to solve it?

      Hi leandrosilva, I'd be happy to help!

      You mentioned that you have some issues when trying to upload your content to your Dropbox account. What is the version of the Dropbox app on your mobile?

      Also, can you walk me through the steps you follow, in order for you to upload the content? Do you click the + button in the Dropbox app, or go through your files on your mobile, then click "share"?

      Keep me posted!

        Hi Megan,

        Thanks for your reply.

        Dropbox App version: 316.2.2.

        Please find below the detailed steps:
        01. Take the screenshot (pressing the side button and the home button at the same time);
        02. Click on the screenshot (while it’s showing its preview on the lower left corner);
        03. Click on the upload icon (top right corner - icon: arrow up inside a rectangle);
        04. Select Dropbox (from the installed Apps available);
        05. Select the Dropbox folder where to upload the file;
        06. Click on Save (top right corner);
        07. Sending file;
        08. Error: "Sending failed. File upload failed. Check and try again."
