videos embedded in powerpoint won't play when opening in dropbox file

I uploaded a powerpoint presentation in pptx into dropbox and then opened the file within dropbox the slides show fine but the embedded videos won't play. Is that the norm for dropbox? Thanks

Thanks for posting on the forum, @gormdael!

Is this only happening when opening your PowerPoint on Dropbox, or even if you open it outside of Dropbox/download it to your device?

How did you embed the videos in your PowerPoint? Are they YouTube videos for the most part, or were the videos embedded from another site?

Can you send me a screenshot of what you see exactly?

Let me know more details, and we’ll have a look.

only opening in dropbox. They play fine if the powerpoint is downloaded from dropbox to the desktop. The original videos play within dropbox from their own file but once embedded into powerpoint and trying to play them from powerpoint while open in dropbox they won't play

I embedded them by hitting insert within powerpoint and then hitting video, then browse and clicking the appropriate mp4 file. The powerpoint size goes up comparable to the size of the video file once it's embedded so it should be part of the powerpoint file. The videos play even if downloaded to separate computer that doesn't contain the original video so it shouldn't be using the embedded video to play and not linking to the video file on the computer

I have the same issue... can play powerpoint videos on the dropbox app. Doesn't make sense as file size includes the media.
