Our .zip files are incomplete after downloading and they throw a "file is invalid" error.

Hello Everyone,

Let me begin by saying I have read through another thread on this very issue.  Here is the link to it:

https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/View-download-and-export/Problem-opening-a-compressed-Zip-File-from-dropbox-getting-error/td-p/61135

The most recent posts to that thread are from 2021.  In it there is mention of DB being aware of an issue with getting zip files to extract, but no mention of any real solution.  This is a major problem for me because this was the whole reason I was going with DropBox due to it supposed to be able to handle large files sizes (up to 100 GB).  The zipped folders I am dealing with are up to 50 GB; so not near the advertised limit.  Can I get someone from DropBox to reply to me and help solve this issue?  My company paid for a year's subscription.  If this remains an issue I may have to demand a refund and we will find a service that does work.  Please reply back to me here and let me know if there is a fix for this problem.

Thank you

How was this issue resolved?  I'm having the same problem.

It hasn't been.  I am working through issues with slow WiFi being a contributing factor, but why the download doesn't just pick back up and just ends without error as an incomplete download has not yet been resolved.  I am looking at other options outside of DropBox that make my downloads more reliable.  Or potentially using a Download Manager to make sure the download actually completes.

I’m sorry to hear about this, Weck9406.

Can you let me know the OS version you’re using?

Also, the .zip files that you mention, are they saved on your Dropbox account under this format, or are you downloading your folders via the Dropbox website instead and it converts them to .zip files then that can’t be opened?

Finally, I’d like a full screenshot of the error you’re getting when trying to unzip them.

Let me know once you have more info.
