Hi, I have been using the DBChooser framework in my app for a few years and it's been working fine, until iOS18 came out and now it fails to open the Dropbox app when invoked, with this message: BUG IN CLIENT OF UIKIT: The caller of UIApplication.openURL(_:) needs to migrate to the non-deprecated UIApplication.open(_:options:completionHandler:). Seeing that DBChooser has been 'deprecated' on the Dropbox developer website, and that the Github repo hasn't been updated in 11 years, I thought I'd at least be able to download the code on my Mac and then be able to build the framework locally, and possibly fix some of the deprecation issues. Unfortunately the downloaded project fails to compile on my Mac. The error I get is in the 'Run Script' phase: accessing build database "/Users/myname/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/DBChooser-colttgencgxlykfovqhahsshavkt/Build/Intermediates.noindex/XCBuildData/build.db": database is locked Possibly there are two concurrent builds running in the same filesystem location. Can anyone help me figure this out? I am using Xcode 16.1, running macOS 15.1.Audio files are compressed/downgraded in quality when exported to iMessage.
I've noticed an issue with exporting/sharing audio files over the last few months, from Dropbox into iMessage. I often share audio files for work, and I go into the app, click share, then export file. Recently when I do this my audio files are getting compressed and severely downgraded in quality. I've also noticed file size going from 8-9mb to 2-3mb. The degrading of quality is a major problem. this bug seems to be continuing and would love to have it reported to the team!74Views0likes13CommentsThe extra storage space from the upgrade isn't showing on my desktop app.
So I upgraded my account from 2TB to 3TB. And in the website it shows I have 3TB, yet on the desktop app when I click on 'manage hard drive space' it shows 2TB. Any idea if / when this will update or is there something I need to do? Thanks in advance!Solved26Views0likes2CommentsFiles in shared links show my exact location, why?
I use drop box for a number of things. I just had someone who has been with me for a while with my drop box tell me he got an exact location from my drop box. he sent me a picture of my exact location on that file. This is a huge safety issue. I have an iPhone 16pro Dropbox version : 402.2.228Views0likes1CommentI'm seeing a weird exclamation mark next to Dropbox on Xmind on my iPad.
Hello, My Dropbox app on iPad is not syncing with my Windows 11 desktop. For example, when I open a mind mapping software that I use (Xmind) and try to open a mind map that I saved in Dropbox desktop: beside the Dropbox icon, there is a circle formed by two arrows with an exclamation point inside of the circle. I cannot find any information in Dropbox support files on this specific icon. I am guessing it is indicating some sort of sync issue. I would appreciate your instruction and help for this Dropbox newbie. Thanks much! I have had a Dropbox account for years, and I recently downloaded the Dropbox app on my iphone 15, which I got to replace a previous iphone that I damaged beyond the ability to use. I am logged into Dropbox on my Mac and in my browser. When I went to log into the Dropbox app on my new phone, I was presented with an interface to create a new account, but not to log in. I went ahead and entered my email and password for my existing account in that interface, thinking it would provide me with a login interface once it recognized that an account with those credentials already exists. But it doesn't. So I can't find any way to use this app. What is the solution?959Views1like8Comments- 40KViews144likes78Comments
Uploading images/videos from iPhone resets the name to today's date instead of its creation date
Hello Dear Dropbox-Team, I find it very useful that Dropbox changes the names of my images and videos to this uniform format "[Foto|Video] DD.MM.YY, HH MM SS.[jpg|png|mp4|...]" when I upload them from my iPhone using the client. For example, my image named "IMG_1234" will be named "Foto 01.01.20, 12 59 55". This helps me a ton to organise my images/videos on a separate drive by sorting by name, since the date is embedded in the filename. Unfortunately, this does not work for all images. After uploading some of my images, the creation date is reset to today's date, which breaks this organisation system. I have not changed the metadata on these images, but it still happens. Is there a way to make the naming convention consistent, propably with a fix? Thank you in advance for answering my question 🙂405Views0likes9CommentsApps in iPhone say my Dropbox is empty
Hello! Whenever I try to attach a file saved in Dropbox from an app (for instance, WhatsApp message, or Mail app) in my iPhone (iOS 18.1), the app says my Dropbox is empty, although it is fully synced in my phone. Interestingly, from the Messages app I'm able to attach a file and if I open the Dropbox app and select to export a file to WhatsApp or Mail, it works. I've tried disabling and enabling Dropbox from the Browse option, clearing history and website data and restarting the phone, and nothing worked. Any suggestions? Thank you!13Views0likes1Comment
