I've noticed an issue with exporting/sharing audio files over the last few months, from Dropbox into iMessage. I often share audio files for work, and I go into the app, click share, then export file. Recently when I do this my audio files are getting compressed and severely downgraded in quality. I've also noticed file size going from 8-9mb to 2-3mb. Uploading images/videos from iPhone resets the name to today's date instead of its creation date
Hello Dear Dropbox-Team, I find it very useful that Dropbox changes the names of my images and videos to this uniform format "[Foto|Video] DD.MM.YY, HH MM SS.[jpg|png|mp4|...]" when I upload them from my iPhone using the client. For example, my image named "IMG_1234" will be named "Foto 01.01.20, 12 59 55". This helps me a ton to organise my images/videos on a separate drive by sorting by name, since the date is embedded in the filename. Unfortunately, this does not work for all images. After uploading some of my images, the creation date is reset to today's date, which breaks this organisation system. I have not changed the metadata on these images, but it still happens. Hello, My Dropbox app on iPad is not syncing with my Windows 11 desktop. For example, when I open a mind mapping software that I use (Xmind) and try to open a mind map that I saved in Dropbox desktop: beside the Dropbox icon, there is a circle formed by two arrows with an exclamation point inside of the circle. I cannot find any information in Dropbox support files on this specific icon. I am guessing it is indicating some sort of sync issue. Hello! Whenever I try to attach a file saved in Dropbox from an app (for instance, WhatsApp message, or Mail app) in my iPhone (iOS 18.1), the app says my Dropbox is empty, although it is fully synced in my phone. Interestingly, from the Messages app I'm able to attach a file and if I open the Dropbox app and select to export a file to WhatsApp or Mail, it works. I've tried disabling and enabling Dropbox from the Browse option, clearing history and website data and restarting the phone, and nothing worked. Any suggestions? Is there a way to change the default PDF viewer in the Dropbox App for the iPad? When I click on "Open in" in a PDF, it only shows the option of Adobe, but I use PDF Expert. (In contrast, on my Mac, when I double click on a PDF in my Dropbox folder, it automatically opens in PDF Expert). If I can't change the default PDF viewer to PDF Expert on the iPad, what is the easiest way to open a PDF from Dropbox in PDF Expert? I am a user who happens to be blind, using VoiceOver, the screen reader for my iPhone 15 Pro. I am using the latest version of dropbox updated six days ago as of October 14. When I am in a long list of files and I touch my screen, I am able to use the usual scrolling gestures. However, when I touch the screen again after scrolling several pages of a folder, focus is lost and jumps back to the first item in the folder, several screens up. This jumping of focus does not happen in other Apps on my phone, notably mail where I have 100 or so messages in my inbox. I am running iOS 18.0.1. I do hope this issue can be addressed and fixed because I use Dropbox a lot and love it! It is a major disruption of my workflow to have the focus jump around so much that I can barely locate a file that I need and when I find it, the focus may jump to a screen much farther up from the one I'm working on. Is it possible to prevent long filenames being shortened from the end? My filenames need to have the whole name displayed, rather than having the end characters chopped off. Hello, I use Xmind. I use Dropbox to save my Xmind files so that I can work on them in both my Windows 11 desktop and my iPad Pro. When I save an Xmind file from my Windows 11 desktop, it appears as a conflict copy. I work on the files alone -- there is no collaboration; therefore, I am confused as to why I continually get conflicted copies. Likely the solution to this is something simple that I am missing.
