Sign-In Issue - receiving one-time code to an old email with no access

Sign-In Issue - receiving one-time code to an old email with no access

Hello,

I'm trying to sign-in to my account that I've been logging into for the past 3 years. Now all of a sudden it prompts me to a 6 digit code that was sent to my old email "2 step verification". I've never turned that option on. I don't have access to that email address anymore.

Hey @andyaslo - sorry to hear about this.

When you say the same problem, are you also not able to access or re-create (to regain access to) the email address that is associated with the Dropbox account you're trying to access?

I have the exact same issue. I no longer have access to my email. Recreating said email is not an option. I know my password but the 2 step verification is sending the code to the email I can't access. I already reached out to the organization that hosted the email- it's a university and they no longer have access to fix this issue either. So I'm paying monthly for a Dropbox account that Dropbox won't let me access. And b/c it's a basic account I don't have access to a real person to help me. I'm beyond exhausted and frustrated b/c i've been trying to fix this for weeks now. Please help!

I’m sorry to hear about this, @aangelopoulos. I did a quick search in our system, and I can see you’ve logged a ticket with our support team. I’ve gone ahead and left them an internal note on your behalf.

They should get back to you as soon as possible.
