Can we deactivate an account with no access to email and password unknown?

Hi, my mother changed her email address and can no longer access it. She also does not know her old password. Therefore when she tries to log into dropbox, basically she can't because it sends a forgot password link to her old (inaccessable) email. There is no way to contact dropbox (we've gone around in circles for an hour). To delete her account and start again, she also needs to know her password. Which she doesn't. Is there a way to just shut down the entire account so we can start again?

If it's not a paid account and you won't be using the same email address, just ignore the account and it will be deleted automatically after a year of inactivity.

If it was a paid account, Support can help you cancel any future charges. To contact Support, visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for Billing issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.
