Dropbox now supports Text File editing on web

Hi everyone,

We’re thrilled to announce that Dropbox now supports text file editing directly on the web. This new feature covers not just .txt files, but also a variety of other file types that are currently previewed as text files on Dropbox. We know this has been a highly anticipated feature, and we’re excited to bring it to you!

What’s New?

• Edit Content: If your file type is supported, you’ll see an “Edit content” button on the full file preview (please note, this won’t appear in Quick View just yet). Simply click “Edit content” to start making changes. You can then choose to either replace the original file with your edits or save it as a new file.

• Enhanced Text File Preview: We’ve also enhanced the preview experience by adding line numbers and supporting various text encodings, which you can select from a dropdown menu.

Thank you for such a swift response in adding this seeming small and deceptively unimportant feature to your DB toolbox! It will bring a lot of productivity & convenience to my workflow.
