317 TopicsErrors when trying to load my folder list and copy & move files on the website
For the past two days on the Dropbox website (Chrome browser Windows), I have gotten get Aw, Snap! or RESULT CODE HUNG memory error after waiting (and waiting) for the folder list to populate while trying to copy or move files. I have done all of the troubleshooting I can think of: My internet connection(s) are fine. In fact, I'm getting same error on each of our 3 different WiFi providers. My RAM says: 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable), and there plenty of memory space available on my Dell laptop. My Chrome version is up to date; and I have cleared caches, removed bad Chrome extensions, and even changed Chrome DNS settings. Same error occurs in Chrome incognito and in Microsoft Edge. I am not able to do this project on the Dropbox desktop or iPhone app. Failure of the folder list to populate makes it impossible to finish end-of-year projects. Is there something going on? I get this error when trying to permanently delete a folder in my trash. I checked, as suggested in the other discussion about this, and the folder is not shared (this was the problem in the other discussion). In fact, I am the only user on my account and have zero shared folders. I believe the problem is because the large amount of files within the folder, there are 37k, but I could be wrong. I have tried to delete again, as suggested by the error message, and from a different web browser (chrome, edge, and firefox), as suggested in the other discussion, all to no avail. I can not open the deleted folder to select files to manually delete, all though even if I could then it would be too tedious due to the large number of files. Hello, So I have a odd one I came in to work this morning and went to look for a sub folder and it was not there, after a moment I noticed that the hole folder was empty all my Folders in it where gone, when I stated poking around I found them all in another folder. But when I look at the logs I can not find any record of the move. Recently when I have copied .wma audio transcripts from Dropbox to a Word document, the text inserts a hard line break on every line of the page about 2/3 horizontally across the page, with breaks landing in mid sentence. It never used to do this. The previous transcription format wasn't all that great either, and needed a certain amount of cleanup, but this latest glitch makes the transcribed text almost impossible to work with. Here is the reason I ask: I have about 10k files in my Dropbox (on web). I am currently syncing with a computer (on desktop), but it says the status is downloading about 800k files. My only guess, is it is some how syncing deleted files as well? Or is it something else, or is my guess correct? I’d love to be able to add tags to each of my photos, while using the app. I’m a sports photographer and it would be great if I had the ability to quickly add a tag for each player the way I’m able to add comments to each photo. I can do it on my desktop, but that is also very clunky. I have a client that whenever they try to delete a file on any browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox). The browser comes up with a timeout error. The downloaded application works with deleting files just fine. Only the browser is having issues. I upgraded my dropbox so I could add watermarks to my images. I set up folder automations to add watermark words to everything I added to that folder. At first, it wasn't working. I'd add images and they stayed the same. Then out of nowhere it worked. But it added 2 copies to the folder, one original and one watermarked. No big deal really. Then it changed on its own to only adding one copy. But it was a watermarked copy so I was happy with that. Then the next day I transferred and watermarked a handful of images and then in the middle of it all, dropbox stopped watermarking altogether. It has now been another 2 days and it still will not watermark. I've tried creating a new folder with a new automation, but still no watermarking is happening. Any thoughts on what the issue could be? Why was it so inconsistent from the start?206Views0likes3Comments
