The folder ‘/FILES_FOR_NAME’ doesn’t exist.

I have been sent the following link:

https://www.dropbox.com/home/FILES_FOR_NAME

And when I click on it, my Dropbox opens and the following error pops up in red:

The folder ‘/FILES_FOR_NAME’ doesn’t exist.

(I have changed folder name to NAME for privacy)

I cannot open or access folder. Does anyone know why?

Hi MPapa - welcome to the Dropbox Community!

As this is not a shared link, rather than a copy and pasted URL from the address bar directly, what you described is normal and expected.

If they want to share a link to a folder of theirs with you, they'll need to use our shared links feature and not just copy the URL of the folder as they see in their URL bar when navigating their own account.

To do this they can use the steps outlined in this Help Center article:

Let me know if this helped!

Thanks so much for your fast response Walter, I'll let the sender know. I will post once I have a new link to let you know if that solves my problem.

      Thanks !
