Hi sorry for the delay. Here's some screenshots to show more details about what I'm talking about.
Background: It's been several days since I last uploaded a photo to Dropbox. So I have no idea of the last upload destination folder I last used. So here we go with a new upload:
#1: I have the image displayed in Gallery and I click the share icon.
#2: Android asks me how do I want to share it, and I choose Dropbox
#3: Dropbox opens the destination folder -- but it's the same folder I used days ago. There's no indication of what the folder name is, nor where in the folder tree I'm being asked to save the image in. So I have to think, "I don't recall the last folder I used since it was days ago. So I'd better go up a folder level to see where I am at." I do that and the folder name is not sufficient to really let me know where I am in the folder tree. So I go up a few more folder levels. Finally I know where I am in the folder tree. So I drill down to today's desired destination folder and then complete the upload. I wouldn't have had to do this if the first destination folder Dropbox displayed to me, showed the folder name and (somehow) where I am in the folder tree. I know that BOX shows a folder path like: Box > All files > Financial > Shopping > Coupons
If you click on the search icon in your third screenshot and start typing the name of the folder you'd like to add the file to, you should be able to select it.
You can also use the (+) button and upload the file directly through the Dropbox app to your destination folder of choice.
Let us know if that helps @cellomellowman

Hi Walter, that does help, thank you! I never used that magnifying glass because I always associate such an icon with looking for specific files, not folders. I will try that.
But still, in my opinion (from using other similar apps), it's unusual to present to a user a folder and its contents without telling what folder they are looking at. A similar "photo share" in Google Drive at least shows you the destination folder name right away--though it doesn't show you the file path -- screenshot below. And I've also grown accustomed to seeing the folder name because that's the behavior of Windows apps on my PC. Whenever I use an app and click "Save" in that app (most apps), the Windows Explorer pops up and immediately shows me the last folder name I save to (in that app). So, it's surprising to me that Dropbox doesn't show a folder name when something is shared. But again thank you for showing me the magnifying glass functionality. 🙂
