Please don't block me from generating a link for a file that hasn't finished uploading

A new "feature" has been implemented where if I drop a new file in a DB folder, and then go to click on "Copy Dropbox Link", it simply won't perform the task until the file has finished uploading.  ...

    Hi everyone. We recently discovered a bug that caused this to break. It is now fixed. If you continue to have trouble copying a link to a file that is uploading/syncing please let us know. 

     

    It will be especially helpful if you can also tell us:

    * What version of Dropbox you're using: Dropbox Windows, Mac, or Web

    * The steps you're using to copy the link (e.g. right click, then choose "Copy Dropbox Link" )

Hey, thanks for fixing this - it worked for a while, but now it's broken again. When you try and right click and copy a link before it's finished uploading it now says "Couldn't Copy link - path/not_found/..

 

Please please fix this once again.

Hi isotropy, thanks for reporting this back to us! 

 

Can you share some additional info that jstdbx asked above? 

 

I would like for you to locate your Dropbox icon. It would be on the menu or task bar, next to your WiFi and hover your mouse there. That should give you the version of the app. 

 

If you could also let us know the steps you follow, in order to obtain the link, that'd be wonderful.

    I'm seeing this as well.

    173.4.6706 using right-click to get the link.

    Could you please clarify your device's OS version for us?

     

    As for you isotropy, I'm assuming you meant 173.4.6706 which is the latest stable version of the desktop app and not 171 - correct?
