My files do not sync

I have a free dropbox account and am also part of a shared folder from someone else's plan. He is currently upgrading his plan but in meantime my files which are less than 2.00 GB do not sync. Why?

The issue is the same - the shared folders use your quota.

Unless you are a paid member of the family plan (and that plan is currently paid) you need to have enough quota for YOUR files AND his.

His upgrade does not benefit you in anyway.

Are you in his shared folder and is that a big folder? If so his upgrade does not benefit you. If you need access to those shared files YOU also need enough quota to access them. Until that happens all syncing will stop

No. I have my own files and folders and I cand also see, access and modify in his folder (it's a Family Room folder his). So his Family Room folder appears aside my folders and files in my dropbox. But for 4 days he is struggling to upgrade his plan and in this mean time, my dropbox folder does not sync, it stays with a white x in a red circle, although my files are 1.52 GB, the rest are online only.
