Dropbox Basic
1320 TopicsFiles reverted to a version that's 6 months old.
Hi, I experienced the oddest situation. Thursday 11.7.24 I opened and worked on 3 excel files which I work on EVERY month. Saved them all of course when finished. Today 2 days later 11.9.24 I go to pull one up and whaaaat? All 3 files have May 2014 dates and data that only goes through April. These files have been saved every month. I know they have as I pulled them up 2 days ago and just added data. Files had data through Sept-24. I checked version history, no help. I checked activity, that does not even show them as being opened. Another file I opened for the financial statements in a different directory did save properly. This has really spooked me and I've lost all faith in DB. Help please! thank you, RussSolved83Views0likes3CommentsWhy is my Documents folder in my Dropbox folder?
After many years using the same computer, we purchased a new one. There are many things different from the "old days". I feel like a total newbie! I somehow ended up with my documents folder in Dropbox. And I don't use Dropbox. Could someone please tell me how I can get my files out of dropbox and my documents folder back in File Explore where I've always had it? I am leaving next week and I'd really like to be able to use my computer without these changes. Thank you for any suggestions.360Views0likes8CommentsVerifying email not working. It won't let me share content.
I have verified my email address multiple times and Dropbox will not let me share or copy a link and it keeps saying that I can't until my email address is verified. What can I do? I can't even chat with support because it says I have to verify my email address.330Views0likes9CommentsMac OS Sequoia is arriving. Is DropBox ready?
Hi everyone, who remembers the chaos that happened last year with the Mac OS Sonoma update and all the issues we had with DropBox? There was a particular version that caused syncing to go haywire. I remember it all too well, as it took us almost a month to figure out how to fix the problem. What will happen with Mac OS Sequoia? I admit, I'm quite anxious and would appreciate some reassurance from the DropBox team. Thanks.9.7KViews7likes63CommentsIs there a way to set the Dropbox folder via the command line?
Hi Dropbox HUGELY EXASPERATING -- NO WAY TO MOVE / SET THE DROPBOX ON-PC FILE LOCN ON COMMAND LINE INSTALLS #Dropbox - presuming you are here, WHY am I having to ask the Community to help with such an OBVIOUS NEED ?????????? #### YOU SHOULD FIX THIS, DROPBOX -- IT'S BEEN OVERLOOKED FOR YEARS. SORT IT OUT PLEASE - TODAY WOULD BE GOOD. This will take a decent programmer in your offices *20mins tops to document*. PROBLEM: THE HEADLESS DROPBOX - IDEAL FOR MANY LINUXES ****HAS NO WAY TO RELOCATE THE STORAGE FOLDER***** On Win / Mac / Ubuntu there's a GUI - but for the hundreds of other Linux situations, and most servers, WE USE COMMAND LINE -- but you FORCE US to put the synch folder in the most obviously idiotic place - under home. And moving it is then IMPOSSIBLE it seems. "Jane" replied with this helpful news three years ago on this thread: [ https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Apps-and-Installations/Unable-to-access-preference-menu-on-linux/td-p/232112/page/3 ] . ## SO DROPBOX -- what are the millions of us out here supposed to do ????? Can you FIX this IDIOTIC OMISSION please. I only ask because I have work associates who want Dropbox. (Cloud on Linux is massively simpler with Google Drive. Just works). Looking forward in anticipation to your detailed help. No sarcasm intended. (Apologies to all the good people in Community but there seems no way to actually reach a Dropbox person). Thanks MikeHLondon [ PS that detail advice from 2013 - it doesn't work. MHL ]3.5KViews2likes7CommentsDesktop app saying "Reconnecting to the internet. This may take a moment" on Windows 10
A few days ago Dropbox Desktop (Basic plan) stopped synchronizing with the cloud: neither files that I update in my computer are uploaded nor files that other upload into the share folders. The message that appears is "Reconnecting to the internet. This may take a moment". Nothing has changed in the PC, no updates, and the network works well except for this. There are other, older posts with similar issues, but I have not seen a solution so far. They mention a problem with the firewall, which I check and does not seem to be my case. Any advice on how to address this? OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045 Dropbox version 211.4.6008Solved713Views0likes8CommentsWaiting to sync (Mac)
Since yesterday, Dropbox won't sync files on my iMac. The app constantly says 'syncing 175 files', but nothing happens Manual upload does work. So apparently there is nothing wrong with the internet connection. I have a 6.25 GB account with only 2.8 GB in use. I have already uninstalled the Dropbox app and downloaded and installed the latest version. Restarting the Mac doesn't solve anything either I looked on my Mac for the cache to empty it, but I can't find it. I recently significantly reorganized my Dropbox folders, could that be a cause? Strange though is that after that at least one file was automatically synced. When I click "View sync issues," there are no sync issues.Solved4.1KViews1like43Comments
