I'm having trouble with Explorer being slow

Dropbox files are opening VERY slowly in windows explorer (ie takes about 2 minutes to open a file). The beta version 90.3.292 had installed several days ago so in case that was the issue, I turned off beta, uninstalled and reinstalled version 89.4.278. Files in the desktop version open just fine now, but not in windows explorer. I prefer using the "old" way (windows explorer) because I feel it's easier to manipulate files and folders. Suggestions?

  • The issue is resolved. I did a system restore to a date before the beta version (90.3.292) installed, so I'm all set. Just an fyi, the version (89.4.278) after the restore is the same as I downloaded when I uninstalled the beta version (I hovered over the icon to be sure).

Hi there prquinn, thanks for reaching out to us. Let's see what we can find.

As a first step, could you check if there's a proxy, VPN, firewall, security app, or even ISP/router hindering traffic to these following Dropbox domains?

Have you also tried rebooting your computer? Maybe that will do the trick.

Let me know how it goes!

Nothing seems to be blocking traffic, and yes, I've rebooted several times.

Thanks for checking that out for me, prquinn.

Could you also send me a screenshot (without any personal info) of what you see when you hover over the Dropbox icon that's next to your computer's clock?

Let me know what you find!
