Re: Windows 11

On Windows 11, I can't access photos

After upgrading to Windows 11.  I am unable to access photos through file explorer, or attache to email, it is telling me the format is currently unsupported or the file is corrupted.  Is this the upgrade or something to do with Dropbox?

Hi @KWWater, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Could you provide more information about what you're experiencing? What file type are you trying to preview?

Are these photos only within the Dropbox folder? Are you on a paid plan and using Smart Sync?

Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

I am seeing a view - only conflict on the bar I did not see this morning and this is a new message.  I hope you can expand the screen shots.

there is an image of a file draw over the top of each document that is new.

should I uninstall then reinstall?

In the screenshots, I don't see any Dropbox icon, nor are there any sync icons on the files.

Is the app running in the background in the system tray? Try reinstalling the app, without uninstalling it first, from this link.

I have clicked into my dropbox which is pinned to my file explorer where it has been for the last 6 years.  I will see if I can get another shot.  I have changed nothing else.

You will find in image  2 and I think 3, file explorer is open, you can see the dropbox symbol and where it is highlighted is the file I have opened.  I do not open dropbox in my brower as I attach documents and photos to emails constantly so access through explorer is easier.

Perhaps it is just to do with syncing.  How do I find this and force it to sync.

cheers

The icon in Explorer indicates the Dropbox folder is on the machine, however, with the lack of icons, it could mean the app itself isn't running or syncing.

Are you able to locate the icon in the system tray?

Having the same issue.  Found the solution once, but happening again.  This specifically happens after I view photos on my phone via the dropbox app -  I get this message later if I try to view through the desk top app.  Solutions?
