I need to migrate to Dropbox for macOS on File Provider, but I'm ineligible on macOS 14.7.

I'm currently trying to use Carbon Copy Cloner to be able to auto backup my Dropbox files to my NAS whether they're locally stored or online-only (it has a handy feature where it can temporarily download cloud files to backup and then make them online-only again.) However, this feature requires MacOS File Provider functionality to work.

However I've run into a roadblock which is that my Dropbox says I'm ineligible for Dropbox for MacOS with File Provider. I'm on Sonoma and I tried syncing down folders with Selective Sync until I had less than 300K files in my Dropbox, but it still said I'm ineligible. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Thanks for posting this on our Community, brokenmusic!

Can you clarify what plan you’re currently on? If you're on a Dropbox team, for example, there's an additional setting the admin needs to check to help with the migration.

If that’s not the case though, I’d like to know the current syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app.

Keep me in the loop for any updates.
