Windows 10 fully updated.

I have been having this issue for years, and have not been able to solve it.  Anymore, I typically download the offline installer and manually update.

But when I come back from a long weekend, I get this crapScreenshot 2024-04-29 105731.png

Every one of those is a separate instance of Dropbox trying to update.   I cannot get Dropbox to update unless I manually close all Dropbox instances/services, and then try the installation.

Any help is much appreciated =]

Hi @meetloaf13, let's jump right into this!

The first thing I'd like for us to check, is whether you have the app installed on the device using admin privilege.

Is it possible that you have any sort of antivirus/proxies/firewall that blocks Dropbox from making the necessary updates?

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

It asks for admin privileges every time it updates the installation, so I would think so.  How do we check?

Hey @meetloaf13, usually the desktop app is automatically installed with admin privileges.

However, you can also check this Help Center article.
