Automatically Open Excel Doc in MS Excel in Dropbox

I have uploaded an Excel file that I will only update in Dropbox using MS Office Online.

When I open the file I am forced to choose the app Excel from a dropdown menu.

Is there a way to tell Dropbox that when I double click on the file to do so directly in MS Excel?

Thanks in advance

Hey @villas4959 - sorry to jump in here, but I just wanted to mention that you can change this setting from the icon shown in the following screenshot.

Let me know if that helps, Steve.

You can make that change in your Account settings.

Thank you for your response Rich.  I did set the default apps in settings and it worked, for a while.  Now I'm having an issue with a preview box that pops up on the right side of the screen when I click on my Excel file.  It takes up almost half of the screen and requires me to click again on open to have my file open.  I must have turned on preview somehow.  Can you tell me where to turn this off?  I just want to click on an Excel file and have it open in the Excel app.  Thanks very much.  Steve

Thank you Walter.

I thought it would be done in Settings, and I never noticed that icon.

I changed it and it's working great.

Thanks again.....Steve
