Allow Dropbox Business team sync online-only settings for more than the parent or one subfolder

There is a major limitation with dropbox in that you can only change the global sync default settings for parent and one sub-ordinate folder in global settings.  I want to set default sync settings to online only for team members for third, fourth, fifth level sub-ordinate folders.  It is not practical or reasonable to do this on a machine by machine level.  I don't understand  why there is a restriction at all.
