I got an email saying my account is closed. Can I recover my files?

I stupidly didn't realise that all my photos were actually saved in my Dropbox account only, and not on my computer. I received an email in October 2024 saying my account has been closed, but I can still log into my Dropbox account and see some files. If I upgrade my account again, will I be able to see all the other files? Or retrieve them?

    Hi NargisH! Hope you’re doing well and thanks for your post. 

    Can you send me a screenshot of the email you received, so that I can have a look? 

    Do you mean that your Dropbox account was deactivated due to inactivity or did something else happen? 

    Finally, is it possible that the email concerned a different Dropbox account? 

    Let me know when you have more info.

      Hi Nancy, thank you for getting back to me. 
      Please see the screenshot. 

      It was around this time that I lost all my photos and I thought something had happened to my Mac storage. I now see that my photos were in Dropbox that was connected to my Mac.

        Unfortunately it isnt possible to recover a deleted account and the data is, as the email said, also unrecoverable.
