Ransomware recovery - Dropbox account inaccessible

Hello all - I was hit with a ransomware account on two of my home PCs about 24 hours ago.  The attack left the usual screen message re "everything is encrypted" and instructions for starting the payment process.  The attack seems to be the LEAKDB/ELITTE87 variety.  I used another PC that was not attacked to try and log into Dropbox, since that's where I keep a copy of everything useful on my PCs, and cannot login.  It seems to think that my account doesn't exist.  If I try to recover the password, no email is received at the address associated with the account.

All of the information I can find through Googling point me to processes that required that I login to Dropbox, which I cannot do at the moment.

How do I proceed?  Is there a way to contact Dropbox support via telephone?  I found a couple of phone numbers while Googling.  [removed] is definitely Dropbox, but all it does it point to dropbox support pages that require login.  There is another number [removed] but when I called it there was no identification as it being Dropbox, so I hung up not noing if it ws a legit.

Ideas?  I'm in a real bind here, without access to my Dropbox files.

thanks everyone,

Reed

You'll need to contact Dropbox Support directly. Visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for sign in issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.

Business team accounts have access to phone support, which is handled via a callback initiated on their admin console. There is no number to call, and no other accounts have access to phone support.

Be careful when you search for phone numbers like you did. There are MANY numbers listed for various companies that aren't legit, and you could find yourself talking to a third party support company that's pretending to be someone else, often with the hope of charging you or even gaining access to your system.
