Hello. My supervisor has a problem with the Dropbox web page, so she cannot even register on her computer. When she accesses "www.dropbox.com," she gets the error message "this site can't provide a secure connection (ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR)." It happens both in Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Also, she can access to other sites except for Dropbox. So, I did several works, but it still has the error message. Please help me. 1. System data and time check -> it is right 2. Removed all the Internet usage history from the browser 3. Removed SSL condition from Internet option 4. Disabled Experimental QUIC protocol and TLS 1.3 in Chrome 5. Deactivated the vaccination program 6. Lowered the firewall 7. Disabled all the extension programs in the browser 8. Set the Internet security level to medium 9. Flushed all the DNS from the cmd I have no idea what I should do next.2.4KViews1like3CommentsHow can I merge two accounts together?
In the past I had a Dropbox account for me and my wife. My wife passed away in 2020. My name and sex changed in 2022. Accidently I have a new Dropbox-account at my current name. How can I merge these accounts into one? Best regards, Marianne29Views0likes3CommentsI didn't unlink my old devices and now I've reached the 3-device limit. How can I remove them?
I owned two computers. I had installed Dropbox basic on both. Then I recently purchased two new, replacement computers and trashed those old ones (before unlinking the Dropbox account from either one). I realize now (and I should have realized then) what a stupid thing that was. I downloaded the Dropbox app and installation went fine on one of the new, replacement computers. When I attempted to install Dropbox on the second new computer, I received a message that said I already had reached the maximum 3 computers linked to my Dropbox account. Since the old computers no longer exist, is there now any way to Unlink those devices from my Dropbox account?Solved24Views0likes2CommentsLocked out of an account while trying to update the email address
I am a registered disabled person, in Australia, and several of my service providers use your e-signing system for me to access my services. So, I am currently unable to access critical support services until this matter is resolved. When changing an account email address, your workflow is designed so poorly that it is possible to update the email address in the account before we have verified the new email address, in the email you have sent. So, when we try to verify the new email address to log in, it states: "Please confirm your email or use old email address to login." However, the old email address in the account we've just updated has already been changed. So when we try to log into it, it says: "Invalid username or password." Now I can't contact you from that account at all because I am locked out of it and the only way you can open a ticket is by logging in. I have had to resort to asking a friend to post this to the forum to see if there is anything we can do to resolve this!26Views0likes1CommentMy iPhone was stolen and two-factor authentication is preventing my account access.
My iphone was stolen, and two factor authentication is stopping me from logging in. A code is supposed to be sent to my new phone, but I never receive it. Sometimes I receive an error message that says there was an error sending the code. I changed my password on my account with the Apple Private Relay address, but I am not receiving the code, so I can’t logon. I have 2 factor authentication on, and I can’t get the code from the Auth App either because of the stolen phone. See attached screenshot with error message Dropbox Support staff says I will never be able to recover my account because the email address is an Apple private relay address and I cannot send them an email from this address. This is ridiculous. I have recovered other accounts elsewhere that use Apple’s private relay address. Dropbox Support says they are going to just close my Help Desk Ticket without helping me further/with no resolution. This seems to be bad security recovery design. I would appreciate any help in gaining access to my account. I only have one device- my new iPhone. Thanks148Views0likes8CommentsUnknown computer on my Dropbox devices list
Can you find out where a computer that is syncing with your Dropbox is located? There is an unknown computer in my sync list. I don't want to delete it until I make sure I can't identify it. I am concerned it is a previous employee.707Views0likes3CommentsAccount deleted by my old business partner. Can I restore it?
Hi There! I’m looking for help regarding my Dropbox account, which I’ve had for over 8 years. Recently, I tried to log in and discovered that the account has been deleted. This account contains a significant amount of personal and client-related videos and photos, and losing access to it has been devastating. Here’s some context that might help: Two months ago, my business partner locked me out of all accounts associated with my work email due to a messy separation. My Dropbox account was originally a personal account, created before I joined the company, and was not paid for or created by the business. At some point, I switched the account’s email to my work email, but I didn’t realize this until now. I suspect my former business partner may have gained access to the account and deleted it. I’m hoping there’s a way to recover the deleted account and its contents, as well as change the account’s email address to a personal one that I control. This account is incredibly important to me, and I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide in restoring it. Please let me know what steps I need to take or any information you require from me to proceed. Thank you so much for your help during this stressful time.Solved72Views0likes5CommentsDescribe reason for admin signing in as a user
When an admin uses the "log in as user"/"sign in as user" feature in the web admin interface, a confirmation prompt appears warning the admin that all other admins will get notified by email. It would be nice if this confirmation prompt included a text entry box where the admin could describe the reason for signing in as a member, and if this reason was included in the email sent to other admins and in the audit logs. Use case: Our admins are regularly accessing the Dropbox account of a recently departed senior employee to look for certain files. Currently, the Dropbox admins manually send emails to the other admins to let them know the reason for the access.17Views0likes1CommentAbility to password-protect folders within Dropbox
Now that Vault is being discontinued, I think it would be useful to have the ability to password-protect folders within Dropbox itself. I know you can password-protect folders when sharing them, but I'd like the ability to password-protect individual folders in Dropbox, to add additional security. I store client information, financial information for taxes, etc. on Dropbox and while I password-protect individual files, I'd like to be able to password-protect full folders too, just for the added layer of security.23Views0likes2Comments
