Our password holder has deceased, how can we change the email?
Our church uses a shared dropbox folder for storing and sharing documents. Previously, the board president was the owner but passed away without sharing her password with the next president. No one h...

Thanks for the info. In this case, the only way to access that account would be via this process.
If this isn't possible, the only remaining option would be to copy the files from the shared folder into another folder on your account, and then share that folder with the same members as before.

Not that I know of. Her surviving spouse did not know how to access her email. (She was a lawyer, so very careful with security. Alas, too careful!)

Hi Jay
Apologies, this doesnt relate directly to the thread above but is a similar issue that I have been trying to resolve for some time now, I am really hoping you can help please.
Carl from the legal team contacted me sometime ago. I tried to message him back but it was returned to me..this is my message
Hi Carl,We cannot log into my Dads Dropbox account as he changed the password and I think as we have tried to access it a few times now we have probably been locked out.We have these documents you specified:- The full name of the deceased person and the email address associated with their Dropbox account
- Your name, mailing address, email address, and relationship to the deceased person
- A photocopy of your government-issued ID
- A photocopy of the death certificate
- Documentation or other evidence linking the email address(es) to your father.
Unfortunately we don't have these documents- A court order that specifies your authority to receive access to the Dropbox account
- A copy of your father's Will, Trust, Power of Attorney, or other record evidencing their consent to disclosure of the content of electronic communications.
Will the documents we have be enough, or alternatively is there anything else we can get that will enable us to access his Dropbox account please?Your co-operation would be much appreciated, thank you- Hannah9 months agoDropbox Staff
Hey sarah copland, thanks for reaching out to us.
I'm really sorry for your loss..
Would you mind giving me the ticket number for your communication with our team, so I can investigate further?

Hi Hannah,
Thank you and thanks for coming back to me
Sure, I seem to have 2 ticket numbers, I will pass them both on
Hoping one of those is the right one. Apologies, I raised this quite some time ago and have lost track as to where I got to with it.
Many thanks in advanceSarah [removed]
