Won't stop indexing on Mac
I installed the mac dropbox update and the application began indexing my files. It has now been stuck for the last few days. I can only access some files. Many are now only available through dropbox....

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your patience while we investigated. We have confirmed that the problem with resyncing has been resolved with macOS Sonoma 14.1. Users should not experience a resync when upgrading to 14.1.
Upgrading to 14.1 will prevent resyncing, but it will not resolve this issue for users who have already become 'stuck' on the resync upon upgrading to 14.0. We can help, but we're asking that users contact support for individual assistance.
Regards,
Ben

Ulrich Cimolino a lot of us are occurring the same issue. On this thread you can find more. We're waiting that DropBox fix the issue or that they release a tutorial to follow to fix the issue.

Ping support and get to advanced solutions and they have a fix (basically quit / delete / terminal a few lines / reinstall... ) It seems a new OS needs to re-sync (makes sense) and some installs are hanging on the required index/sync.
I ended up with a new (2nd) dropbox folder that synced from the cloud so ~7 days old... and the original db folder turned into a regular folder with a date and all the files are there in the original now archived folder... so I'm copying over the stuff that changed in the last ~7 days to the new db folder. Not ideal but could be FAR worse.
