The desktop app doesn't get removed, it's stuck when trying to remove it.

I need to remove and re-install the app from the laptop as synch has stopped. When I remove it, it holds and states: app is not removed. How to either re-activate synch or to remove and re-install the app?

  • Sorry for the delay (off for a break), I have managed to remove and reinstall the app.

Hi Rob Meijer, let's jump right into this!

As a first step, can you clarify the version of the OS you're using on your end?

If you could also let me know more in regards to the app's version, and its syncing status, that'd be amazing.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Hi Rob Meijer, thanks for the info!

Have you checked your programs to make sure the app is still installed to your device?

Would you also mind opening the "Task Manager" by right-clicking the taskbar and clicking "Start Task Manager". Then please click on the "Processes" tab to see if there are any other processes associated with Dropbox that may be preventing Dropbox from being removed from your device.

Once you are viewing these processes, if you see any items that refer to Dropbox, or recognize any programs that you may have linked to Dropbox, please perform the following steps for each applicable process:

        - Click on the line that references the process to select it
        - Click on "End Process"

After you've done so, please try to follow the normal uninstall instructions.
