Any news on the app for the Amazon Fire tablets and phone?

I don't want to sideload any apps on my device as I'm never going to get automatic app updates.

Or, you could ask Amazon if they ever plan to properly certify their device so it can accept app installs from Google Play Store, then it can join all the other properly certified Android devices out there and not be crippled straight out of the box.
