Dropbox signed me out on Android after updating the app via Google Play.

Uodated my Dropbox from Google Play (Motorola G8 Plus Android 14) and  Dropbox logged me out.

Trying to login either via my google account or my CORRECT pwd I keep on getting the following message

"sign in failed contact dropbox customer support"

Any ideas...

close app, restarted the phone etc. to no avail

On my notebook everything is rosy. It is just the Android that decided to suddenly log me out

  • Yes my Dropbox as I said was just updated.

I finally figured out what happened..

the latest update logged me out because I use free Dropbox in 3 devices. My windows laptop, my Android phone and my Android tablet.

However my former phone was listed as number 4 device linked, even though it has been inactive for over a year....
The new version of Dropbox included some more exhaustive check and decided to log me out. But instead of giving a clear message like "Exceeded allowed devices" gave that unknown error
I finally had to unlink both my old Android phone and my New Android which somehow was shown as 2 devices. that was weird.

    finally could restablish connection

Which version of OS are you now using?

Have you updated Dropbox on the device to the newest version?
