Can't change the Dropbox account my Mac desktop app is linked to

I want my Mac desktop app to link to my preferred Dropbox account, rather than to an account which is now redundant.   The app links to the redundant account by default and nothingI can do can ...

    Hey there @LDbug - have you tried doing it through the app's preferences under the Account tab?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, gfoxcroft.

 

Does your account's security page still show this computer in the 'devices' section?

 

If so, can you remove it from there and then try again?

    Hannah - I have a similar problem on a Macbook (iOS new to me, transitioned from Windows). I can easily switch between accounts by accessing DB on the web. BUT I installed the desktop app and it only connects to a single account and there is no way that I can see to switch accounts on the desktop app. On my PCs I have links to both accounts on my home page and can set these as drives for easy access and transfers; also I have local copies on my PC. How can I do the same on Mac without accessing websites but rather through the apps? And how can I save local files from these sites?
