A badge with number '1' in my macOS Dropbox icon
I updated my Dropbox in macOS 4 times now but still have a number '1' in a badge on the icon. What can I do about that?

Hi imatch, thanks for replying back!
I checked with our Team and engineers about this, and they're aware of this issue internally. We are looking into this, and hope to resolve it as soon as possible.
I'll get back at you once we have any updates!

Thanks Dropbox Tech Team. I see a lot of us have this problem after updating to Ventura.

Hi everyone,
Well, I just figured out the issue accidentally. I have two Dropbox accounts to which I’m simultaneously signed in, my work and personal ones. The notifications weren’t visible, because they were in my personal account that I very rarely use. I switched to that account, read the notifications, and the badge is gone! So this may be the issue for others.Good luck!Best wishes,Mac - imatch2 years agoHelpful | Level 5
But it seems te be disappearing after a while. As I didn't change anything in the meantime, it must have been the Dropbox team that did so, for which I'm grateful.

Hi everyone,
I have the same issue (despite there being no notifications, which are also now disabled) and tried quitting and reopening (nope), restarting (nope), and even uninstalling and reinstalling the app (still nope). In fact, deleting and reinstalling removed the red "1" and replaced it with a red "2" — and still no notifications, unread or read (just "All quiet for now")!
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Unfortunately I don't have a clue other than the fact that my #1 badge disappeared after a while.
Sorry for not being able to give you any better support on this.

Hi macmarston, welcome to our Community!
Can you clarify a few things for me, such as your OS and the version of the Dropbox app that you have installed?
You should be able to locate it if you hover your mouse over the little Dropbox icon, on your menu bar, next to your WiFi. Also, how long has this been going on?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Thanks for the offer to help, Megan.
Mac OS 13.4.1 and Dropbox 178.4.4811
The issue has been going on for about 2-3 weeks? I finally tried reinstalling yesterday, which led to the "2" instead of the "1" in the notifications badge. And then I posted.
Best wishes,
Mac

Thanks for the update imatch & macmarston!
If you could also send me a couple of screenshots of the icon, and then what you see when you click on it, and reveal your Assistant tray in the pop-up, that'd be amazing.

Hi Megan,
Sure, here are some screenshots. I don't know what the "Assistant tray" is - I can't find that. Can you clarify?
Best wishes,
Mac

Hi macmarston, thanks for that!
The assistant tray is the one we're looking at your screenshots. Can I send you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this?
