Why can't I add a shared folder to my account?

My account states that I have 2T+ space available but when trying to add files to a folder I keep getting the error message that I don't have enough space yet I am only trying to add 500GB

Any suggestions on how to rectify this please?

    Are you definitely signed into the account with the 2 TB of quota according to this page?

        This looks to be an error message from your computer, meaning you don't have enough hard disk space to store the files.

         

        Could you check your hard drive space to confirm this?
