Lost 6.25GB (of 15GB) from my quota when compared to yesterday's total
I have been a BASIC Dropbox user for years (Maybe 10?). I had accumulated 15GB via new users I had recommended as well as other bonus storage - all in addition to the initial 2GB and more. Yesterday ...

Hey Paisanoglen, I hope it's okay for me to jump in here as well.
Referral space is permanent, so there's no way for an account to lose it.
Can you let us know how many referrals you see there in the page that Jay linked in his reply?
Also, is it possible that you had some other kind of promotion that gave you some extra space, which expired? Because promotions do expire after a while.

Hannah, Walter, et al ;-)
I've written all that I know and recognize from faint memories of Dropbox transactions (promotions, etc) along the 12 years of membership. ... I can say that I KNOW I saw 15 gb when I logged in to do some work with Dropbox last week. I worked diligently for maybe an hour or a bit less to whittle down (download / delete) whatever items I believed would set the non-used space to close to 15 gb. And, as I wrote last time, I quit for the day with intention to upload the close-to-15 gb files the next time. But, of course, when I returned there was less then 9 gb total in my account.
TWO things I'll leave you with:
- I *DO* recall that I had that non-rounded number (8.75 gb) at one point. I recall it was a strange number that was not an even .50 or .00 gb. That I do attest to. Similarly, the 15 gb total space listed in my account when logging in last week WAS 15 gb. Period. Period. Period. ... I do not recall how or why it had advanced from 8,75 to 15 gb. I didn't care nor question the 15. It just happened that that number was what I needed for my upload!! WHOOPEE! was my reaction.
- I'm tired of attempting to justify, recall the decade of my account's rise & fall of storage, or be in disagreement with my experience of the 15 gb. I'm not arguing here nor have I been since I originally reached out to Support last week. I have been presenting the FACTS AS I EXPERIENCED AND RECALLED THEM - from last week's experience and those that I could muster up after I was shown my history. I'm okay. Very okay with where I'm at at this moment. This is not a life-threatening experience nor need on my part.
My hunch is that there is or was some glitch in the number of gb storage (15) that was visible and with which I worked last week. That glitch came back to a reality of 8.75 then next day, I saw them both. ...
So ... let's leave this as it sits now, as 8.75 gb. I can and will work with that. (insert shrug here) ... it is what it is.
I thank you all for your attention and help in clarifying this. No harm. No foul.
Take care. ... Glen
