I can't access someone else's folder due to lack of space?
I get a message to join a folder of an association.
When I click on that I get the message that I don't have enough space while I only use 1.94 GB of my 6.75 GB.
I keep getting the message to...

It does matter, actually. When you accept a shared folder, you receive your own copy of that folder in your account, so you need to have enough available space in your account before you can accept that folder.
If you only need view access to the folder, ask the owner to send you a shared link instead. You'll be able to view and download the content without impacting your own account.
If you need edit access to the folder, then you'll need to upgrade for more space before you can accept it.
