I was having trouble with my Dropbox going into an 'Indexing' spiral. So after reading troubleshooting for this issue I logged out of Dropbox on desktop and logged back in again.

Sorted! (With some trepidation) I deleted the old 'unlinked' file, and this did the trick – the new file now has Dropbox symbol next to it and all right click Dropbox functions. Thank you for your help.

Hey 7rjames3, let's jump right into this!
You can double-check the app's preferences right here, and see where your Dropbox folders is syncing.
Based on everything you've provided my way, it sounds like it's syncing on the first location that you mentioned, but it doesn't hurt to check.
From there, you can then delete the unlinked Dropbox folder.
I hope this clarifies!

Hi Megan,
Yes that is the case, when I sync folders in the Dropbox app they appear smoothly in this new location. Was just hoping to get clarity on why this old folder has the Dropbox logo and the new one doesn't. Furthermore the 'old' file has the Dropbox options on right click, where the new one doesn't.
Nervous to delete this old folder as it was synced with most of company's files 😅

Hey 7rjames3, thanks for the heads up!
Odd indeed.
When you locate your little Dropbox icon, next to your WiFi on your menu bar and click on it, you should have a little folder icon on the top right.
If you click there, which folder does the app re-direct you to?
