Hey bugoessorn, welcome to our Community and happy 2023!
May I ask what plan you're on at the moment?
The advanced settings for shared links such as setting a password, expiration date or disabling downloads are only available to customers on Dropbox Professional, Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise plans.
Keep me posted!

Hi, Walter. I am not sure I understand your question.
I was logged into my firm Dropbox account on my firm computer when sending the dropbox link to my personal email. I accessed the email link on both my iphone and my ipad, and the data came over to me unencrypted and unprotected.

So, on your iPhone and your iPad, were you also logged into the same Dropbox account dmgonzales ?

I didn't log into a dropbox account on my iphone or ipad. I just clicked the link and the documents appeared.
Do I need to create a personal dropbox account?

Hey dmgonzales , there's no need to create a Dropbox account to access a shared link.
But can you check something? If you access the link through a computer, but from a private browsing/incognito window, are you required to enter a password?

Thanks, Hannah. I will check that out... but a question. Can a non administrator password protect documents?

No worries! Let me know what you find.
And yes, team members can add passwords to shared links as well.
