I added a folder to Dropbox from the website, but only 200 files got uploaded.

I added one folder from my D drive to my Dropbox backup and it quickly backed up about 200 files and then stopped. Nothing else got backed up. So, I deleted that folder from Dropbox and added it again, with the same result. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Welcome back to the forum, TimB2.

Can you describe to me the exact steps you took to back up those files? Do you have external backup enabled on your Dropbox account or computer backup instead and you moved those files to one of your computer folders, that’s currently being backed up?

What’s the size of the folder you're backing up?

Finally, I’d like to know the syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app.

    Keep me posted.

-Right clicked on the Dropbox icon in the task bar
      -Clicked on the globe icon
      -Clicked Upload or Drop
      -Clicked Folder
-Navigated to the folder I want to backup
      -Clicked Upload

I made a slight mistake in my original post. The folder in question is on my D Drive, but the first time I tried to add these files to Dropbox they were on an external drive. In both cases, it backed up a few files and then stopped uploading, telling me that Dropbox was up to date.

The size of the folder is presently 137GB.

If you clicked on the globe icon of your desktop app, it means that you tried to upload these files via www.dropbox.com. Correct?

If yes, I can suggest trying a different browser as a test (or an incognito window) to see if it’ll make any difference.

If it doesn’t, you can try dropping that folder in the local Dropbox folder you have on your computer and the files should sync online and to the rest of your devices.

Let me know if any of that helps.
