Turn automated file deletion into "Make online-only" by default

Hey there jamdalla, thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to the Community!
I'm afraid this is not possible at this time with Dropbox. You'd need to manually set those files to be online only when needed to free up hard drive space on your computer(s).
I'll leave this thread open in case there's a user who can offer something else or a walk-around etc.
I hope this helps!

^ if you are a programmer you could automate it using UI Path.
You might not be able to control files being deleted from your local and /or delete from the dropbox sync'd folder but you could copy files from the sync'd folder to a new folder on dropbox that isn't affected by the sync.

You don't even need UI Path. You can use an Automation to automatically move files that are added to a folder.
Set an automation to move the files to a different folder and use Selective Sync to stop that folder from syncing to the computer. The result should be that as files are saved to the original folder and synced online, Dropbox will move them to an unsynced folder which would cause the files to be deleted from the computer (likely stored in cache for 3 days before being purged).
