My desktop app is stuck at syncing 10 files. What can I do?

Dropbox icon keeps showing: Syncing 10 files !!!, it started when I was trying to delete protected files in a shared folder, I managed to delete all the files, except one, it was stuck in the deleted...

    Hey MazenArafeh, thanks for reaching out to us on the Dropbox Community. 

     

    At first, have you tried rebooting your computer?

     

    If you have and it doesn't do the trick, could you try the following steps in the exact order listed?

    • Click on the Dropbox icon in your system tray.
    • Go to the gear in the Notifications panel.
    • Select Preferences...
    • Navigate to the Account tab.
    • Click anywhere in the window under the tab.
    • Hold down the 'Alt+H' keys.
    • Click on the Fix Hardlinks button.
    • You may be asked for your computer's login credentials, in which case, please enter them.
    • Wait a bit to see if Dropbox resumes syncing.

    If the above steps don’t resolve your issue, repeat steps 1-6, but at step 7, click on the Fix Permissions button, instead.
