when I downloaded dropbox onto my laptop, it prompted me to enable auto saving screenshots as jpeg, which has been quite helpful. however, I have not been able to enable that option on my pc, I can't access the settings, dropbox has a very useless article on how to enable this, but like I said, it is useless and full of wrong info, I can't open the "dropbox desktop app" in order to access the settings.14Views0likes3CommentsCertFindCertificateInStore failed with: (-2146885628) Cannot find object or property.
As multiple other users have already reported over the last couple years, I am seeing many of these error events in my Windows 10 Event Viewer, all coming from the DbxSvc(Dropbox service) event source. Can you all please fix your desktop client software to stop spamming my event logs with these errors? This issue has dragged on far, far too long already. Either stop emitting these errors, or fix the underlying problem. Thank you.43KViews9likes98CommentsDropbox Migration to a New Mac With the New Cloud Storage Setup
On my primary computer, I keep all Dropbox files in offline mode. I've updated to the new Dropbox setup that places the Dropbox folder in ~/Library/CloudStorage. I'm wondering what will happen when I move to a new Mac in the future. In the past, the macOS transfer program would transfer all my files to the new computer's drive, and then Dropbox would reindex them (rather than having to redownload all the files from Dropbox). What will happen now with the new Dropbox setup? Thanks.Solved6.5KViews1like28CommentsMacOS: No "Dropbox" in the "Location" settings of Finder
I have updated Dropbox on MacOS (12.6.5), and I have learned that I should know be able to see "Dropbox" in Finder on the left hand pane under 'Locations'. However there is no such entry; 'Locations' is empty. I *can* access Dropbox in the following way: In the MacOS menu bar, I click the Dropbox icon, and then click the icon which says "Open Dropbox Folder". Then a Finder window opens, showing my Dropbox files. I just wonder why I can't see them in just a normal new Finder window.Solved8.8KViews2likes40CommentsDropbox Vault Timer Notification and Option to Extend before locking
Hi Guys , Dropbox has been around for years now, I have been using One Drive Private Vault for many years - only reason I switched to Dropbox is because your Vault function is available on Mac Os - For the Love of God you have had so many users Ask you to create a option that allows the user to extend the timer before the vault just closes suddenly , while a user is still working a file! My Lord , all your developers need to do is create a popup banner saying " your vault is about to lock in 1 min ! you want to keep it open for another 5min, 10min or 20min or do you want to lock it right now!. This will most certainly keep many MS One Drive users from staying, What the heck is the issue and why haven't you given us this option yet . I just Spend $137 dollars on your Dropbox Plus version to be treated with the most frustrating feature - considering a refund !!!1 just get it done developers760Views4likes2CommentsIs the Library>CloudStorage folder, still an obligation or is that not relevant any more?
A few months ago, I was forced to nest my Dropbox folder in theLibrary>CloudStorage folder. It seem to be a new Apple procedure with Ventura. Yesterday, when adding again my desktop to Dropbox and still on Ventura, Dropbox asked me to put it's folder wherever I wanted just like before. Is this the new way of doing things ? Which is which ? Is theLibrary>CloudStorage folder procedure not required anymore ? I would also appreciate to understand the advantages/necessity of migrating to theFile Provider API ? I read some articles on DropBox help and I am confused. Do I need to keep both or is only the new one that I nested where I want required ?Solved6.7KViews0likes14CommentsI get an error message that Windows System Restore failed?
Hi When I run Windows System Restore it fails with this error message System Restore failed to replace the file (D:\Users\*******\Dropbox\.dropbox.cache\qebcobkqbgbzfynfuwbof\placeholder.bat) with its original copy from the restore point. An unspecified error occurred during restore. (0x80070780) I have completed system recovery from an image without problem but on several occasions I have come up against this error when trying to correct a problem using system restore which would be easier to use if I could. I still have the problem if I run the system restore in safe mode with the same failour message Any suggestions on allowing the restore to work RichardSolved29KViews3likes157Comments
