Someone gained access to my account and deleted all the files in a shared folder
Hi, I use a shared folder in Dropbox at work and today one of my colleagues told me that I had deleted all the files in it. When I checked, I had no files shared or owned, also the Deleted Files Folder was empty. The only thing I found was a TXT telling me "Your data has been stolen, please contact someone@outlook.com. I use my google account to log into Dropbox so mainly what I need to know is if this means that my google account is compromised too. I have checked the Signed-In Web Browsers in Dropbox and I clearly recognize a log in from a country that is not where I live, I never lost access to my account. Hope someone can help me understand how this could have happened and how can I prevent from happening again. Thanks Martin
Unable to delete account - nothing happens on a browser and getting an error on the app
So I have a free account and no longer need it. I have tried the steps on website to delete the account but when I get to the end after putting in my password nothing happens. I have tried deleting through the app and get an error message stating the account can’t be deleted due to an unknown error. I’ve tried different browsers and wiping the cache, still no fix. Any ideas?
My email address is no longer active, so I can't login to Dropbox
Hi, the email that was used to setup my dropbox account is no longer active. I am therefore unable to access my account. I need to access so that I can update the email to my new email. I pay for my subscription. I am at a loss on how to contact Dropbox to help me.
Option to lock a file/folder granting view-only access for individual plans
It would enhance ransomware protection if folders or files could be marked as "read-only", where only a change/rename/erasure is password protected. Read-only is supported for teams, the request is for individual users. Password protection is also available but is for any access - which makes it uncomfortable when reading data; In my case, and I assume for many private users, 99% of the data is never changed once uploaded - family pictures, documents etc. Motivation is to enhance protection in case an unauthorized party got access to your account and has the ability to erase your data - such as a virus or ransomware attack. So the aim is not privacy - it is erasure protection, while not complicating everyday viewing with a password for every read.

And now I wanted to log into dropbox and take a very important photo from there, but I'm already gone. At the moment, if I hang about or leave, Dropbox seems to keep me signed in, which is, for me, an unnecessary security risk. Surely a lot of people would dislike this, if they thought about it? There should be an option in Settings to log me off if I am inactive for a set length of time, or if I leave. Could you please look at this? Regards, Mike160304
