226 TopicsAutomatically start Uploading photos when charging - “Charge AutoSync”
1. So the idea is that once you plug in your charger, dropbox automatically uploads all your photos into the library. 2. This could be optional with sliding on off button. It could also be combined, so that when your phone is charging, and you are connected to Wi-Fi. It will start to upload your photos. 3. They could also be a third option, including both of the before mentioned solutions, but it would also synchronize your whole dropbox. All uploads and downloads would happen in this period. That way, you will never have to worry about using up all your battery at an inconvenient time,or all ofyour monthly amount of gigabytes from your service provider.17Views0likes2CommentsA large scanned PDF did not upload and is missing, can I find it in the iOS mobile app?
Hi, tldr; scanned document didn‘t finish the upload without showing errors or any trace of the file; how to recover the data? Last days I had to scan a lot of documents and though there was a weak connection everything went fine initially. A couple of the uploads were stuck, some waiting, some with errors. All of them finished when I took a break in a wifi hotspot and all those files are safe on the server. The last document had many pages (>50), so I didn‘t wonder when the sandbox showed for a longer time. As everything went fine before, I changed the app and worked on something else. When I switched back to Dropbox App minutes later, there was no sign of any upload running, nothing in the queue, no errors. And no trace of my big file anywhere. In the meantime I also checked the events, but no surprise, the server didn‘t catch this one. Question: Is there any chance to recover the pages of the scan and redo the upload? I have spent a long time to adjust dozens of corners and the original documents are not so easy to access again. The file must have been generated somewhere locally on my device, so can I retrieve that with some ios tools? I didn‘t close the app nor did I restart the device, so I have still some hope. I use browsers and the apps on iPad and iPhone. The scan was taken with the DropBox App 404.2.2 on iPhone 13 running IOS 18.1.1 with plenty of memory space left on iPhone and Dropbox server.14Views0likes3CommentsAudio files are compressed/downgraded in quality when exported to iMessage.
I've noticed an issue with exporting/sharing audio files over the last few months, from Dropbox into iMessage. I often share audio files for work, and I go into the app, click share, then export file. Recently when I do this my audio files are getting compressed and severely downgraded in quality. I've also noticed file size going from 8-9mb to 2-3mb. The degrading of quality is a major problem. this bug seems to be continuing and would love to have it reported to the team!108Views0likes19CommentsFile requests on Dropbox mobile app for iPadOS
Hi there, We would imagine this has been requested before, but hopefully it can’t hurt to ask again. Many in our team use iPadOS for work, and the ability to send a File Request through the iPadOS would be much appreciated. Much thanks!158Views0likes3CommentsDBChooser for iOS - how to build locally
Hi, I have been using the DBChooser framework in my app for a few years and it's been working fine, until iOS18 came out and now it fails to open the Dropbox app when invoked, with this message: BUG IN CLIENT OF UIKIT: The caller of UIApplication.openURL(_:) needs to migrate to the non-deprecated UIApplication.open(_:options:completionHandler:). Seeing that DBChooser has been 'deprecated' on the Dropbox developer website, and that the Github repo hasn't been updated in 11 years, I thought I'd at least be able to download the code on my Mac and then be able to build the framework locally, and possibly fix some of the deprecation issues. Unfortunately the downloaded project fails to compile on my Mac. The error I get is in the 'Run Script' phase: accessing build database "/Users/myname/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/DBChooser-colttgencgxlykfovqhahsshavkt/Build/Intermediates.noindex/XCBuildData/build.db": database is locked Possibly there are two concurrent builds running in the same filesystem location. Can anyone help me figure this out? I am using Xcode 16.1, running macOS 15.1.42Views0likes4CommentsThe extra storage space from the upgrade isn't showing on my desktop app.
So I upgraded my account from 2TB to 3TB. And in the website it shows I have 3TB, yet on the desktop app when I click on 'manage hard drive space' it shows 2TB. Any idea if / when this will update or is there something I need to do? Thanks in advance!Solved28Views0likes2CommentsFiles in shared links show my exact location, why?
I use drop box for a number of things. I just had someone who has been with me for a while with my drop box tell me he got an exact location from my drop box. he sent me a picture of my exact location on that file. This is a huge safety issue. I have an iPhone 16pro Dropbox version : 402.2.232Views0likes1CommentI'm seeing a weird exclamation mark next to Dropbox on Xmind on my iPad.
Hello, My Dropbox app on iPad is not syncing with my Windows 11 desktop. For example, when I open a mind mapping software that I use (Xmind) and try to open a mind map that I saved in Dropbox desktop: beside the Dropbox icon, there is a circle formed by two arrows with an exclamation point inside of the circle. I cannot find any information in Dropbox support files on this specific icon. I am guessing it is indicating some sort of sync issue. I would appreciate your instruction and help for this Dropbox newbie. Thanks much! I have had a Dropbox account for years, and I recently downloaded the Dropbox app on my iphone 15, which I got to replace a previous iphone that I damaged beyond the ability to use. I am logged into Dropbox on my Mac and in my browser. When I went to log into the Dropbox app on my new phone, I was presented with an interface to create a new account, but not to log in. I went ahead and entered my email and password for my existing account in that interface, thinking it would provide me with a login interface once it recognized that an account with those credentials already exists. But it doesn't. So I can't find any way to use this app. What is the solution?989Views1like8Comments
